4/8/04 • Lost and Found. Brian uncovered a long lost disc of samples he worked on with Doug for an unnamed company (who still uses our work and calls it their own- grrrr) It was a longform piece for Cuervo alcohol that played around the US and eventually won us the ambiguous "Best Longform Industrial" at the Chicago International Film Fest in 1999. (yes, its that old) Too bad Mick's original voice over work isn't included. Brian on graphics, Doug on cuts: check it.

1/26/04 • SuperStupid Shakedown After a sweltering eleven months of service, Doug is sad to announce that SuperStatus is pulling out of the spot at 1056. Management's asking us to fake the funk, and we just can't do that, folks. So...January 29th (Thursday) shall be our last function on the weekly tip until further notice. Come and get wasted with us, it's fun! I can promise lots of cheesed out 80s tunes for this night only! As well as a healthy dose of dub, funk, and hip hop. Also, mark yer calendars for Friday, March 5th. SuperStatus and Phonograph Scientists at Cafe Lura (Belmont and Elston). B-boybusiness to the utmost, seen?-dug

1/19/04 • 2004 is about strategic use of hard drive space.. Current projects are beginning to roll. Mike and Mick are currently searching for a location to their next short, "preferably something that doesn't have a Chicago feel." Doug and Brian are working with Paul Velat and his Lord of the YumYum project on a visual piece for his school recital in late march. Brian is also busy trying to get every little thing StationWagon has contributed to or created in the last few years, up on the web. Doug has moved his Lord Dubious and SuperStatus night of dub, funk, and hiphop to Thursdays at 1056 N. Damen (just south of Division) with his holme-roasts Chuck Love and The Graduate.

12/26/03 • On the 2003 out tip. We'd like to wish everyone who helped support the Wagon a hearty thanks. (we don't shake hands during flu season, sorry)

9/22/03 • There it was. Wow. Thanks for the support! The "Hardly Ever" premiere party at Heaven turned out great. We showed a program of our newest shorts- including those by Eric Fensler and Doug Lussenhop- to a packed house. Reactions ranged from, "I really liked it, great job!" to "I have had a boss like that, some of those scenes hit a little too close to home." to "...completely new characters, those acting lessons really paid off." and finally, "you guys are the greatest ever - here's a ton of money for you guys so you can do this full time and not have to worry about day jobs because they can sap your energy and StationWagon is awsome and..." - or at least I think I overheard someone say something like that. Thanks to Mike for design and printing of the inserts for the DVDs, and to Brian for the long hours put into making them. (ending with him waking up at work, at 6:30am, disoriented, sweaty back, and disc ejected from tray) - Mick

The Technophobia vs. Technotopia Version 3 fest went to town with laptop-madness™ in a huge theater at the heart of the MCA

  1. Just a bit of Paul Velat's Lord of the YumYum performance. ( hi lo pc )
  2. Then, Gunner to Pilot canceled their appearence at the Fireside Bowl, leaving Herc to play alone with Pinback on Sunday. wow. Herc's opener, circa May 1976: ( hi lo pc )
  3. Mike and Paul even did a dedication to Pinback's Rob Crow and his girlfriend Vicki on their engagement. (collective 'awwww').: ( hi lo pc )

Mike said "I was a rock star for about 6 days there. And we'd do it all again in a heartbeat."

3/15/2003 • Wow. Paul and Mike of Herc were asked to set up another variety show at the Museum of Contemporary Art for the Version 3 festival coming at the end of March. Stunned, but excited, Mikes reaction was "I think were doing the Mayor Daley victory party next." More details on the way.

Word is that "Good" will be playing the Image Union circuit twice in April-- the 13th and 18th at 11:30PM.

1/29/03 • The first Herc Variety Show went down just before Christmas 2002 at the back of the Prodigal Son Bar in Chicago. Brian and Dug captured what they could on DV.
